Well, that was anti-climactic.:( I knew Nadal, was suffering from knee pains after his match with Tsonga. But I didn’t expect that he would give Murray, a walk-over. I don’t believe it will change anything, though. Still staying with Djokovic, to win the finals against Andy Murray and ultimately retain his championship.
The real question to me, is how will this affect Nadal, in the upcoming two or three months. He’s got a lot points to defend, throughout the clay court season. If his knees don’t hold up, it could thrust the door wide open for Djokovic, to come in and take the French Open.
Speaking of Djokovic, he looked great against Monaco. Even though he failed to serve it out at 5-4. It was still a convincing win, over a good player, playing some of his best tennis to reach the semi-finals. I hope this successful streak continues for Juan Monaco. He seems like a cool guy. Maybe this run in Miami, will show him that he’s got the game to stay competitive with the world’s best. After all, he gave the number one player in the world, all he wanted for a set.
